Dr. Khalid Enver

Dr. Khalid Enver, one of our local General Surgeons, has been practicing medicine for over 35 years. He holds dual fellowships in Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Canada. He previously worked in rural Newfoundland, with Grenfell Regional Health Services, and was an active member of his local community. He organized a journal club at the hospital and also coordinated several fundraising initiatives for the town. As a former university badminton champion, he also enjoyed coaching badminton for elementary and high school students. In his spare time he enjoyed hiking, snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.

For the past 14 years he has been in Fergus working at Groves hospital. Here, he started the Groves Elder Life project to help hospital patients connect virtually with loved ones. an initiative that was recognized at an international geriatric conference. Continuing his passion for teaching, he enjoys mentoring both locally and internationally-trained medical students, helping to inspire the next generation of physicians.

As an advocate of small-town medicine, he understands the importance of the relationship between the local community and its hospital, and this inspired him to join our foundation. As a board member, he is actively involved in ways to fundraise for our new Groves hospital and to continue to find ways to improve care for our local residents and surrounding community at large.
