On October 25, 2022, Groves Hospital Foundation held their 20th Annual Major Donor Appreciation Event at the Fergus Legion. The event was generously sponsored by RBC Royal Bank, with wine sponsored by Henry of Pelham Winery.

The evening marked the first in-person, sit down Donor Appreciation Event for Groves Hospital Foundation since 2018. There was a hiatus during the move to the new hospital, followed by COVID restrictions over the following 2.5 years. 

RBC’s sponsorship covered the cost for the evening and allows donor dollars to focus on funding vital equipment, technology, and education at GMCH. In addition to their event sponsorship, RBC has given over $360,000 to Groves since 2002, to support the New Groves Hospital, Nursing Education, and COVID-relief. RBC Dominion Securities, together with RBC Fergus, gave an additional $50,000 to the New Groves Hospital Project. RBC has been the Foundation’s bank of choice since our start in 2002, as well as the biggest donor to the hospital amongst all financial institutions.

The event featured speeches by Randy Mullin (Financial Planner, Investment & Retirement Planning, RBC Fergus), Dr. Patrick Otto (GMCH Chief of Staff), Angela Stanley (GMCH President & CEO), Ted Ecclestone (Founding Board Member & Donor), Ilse VanderMeulen (Foundation Board Chair), and was emceed by Lori Arsenault (Foundation Executive Director).
