Did you know that nearly every piece of patient care medical equipment and technology used by physicians and staff at Groves is funded by donors?
Equipment like this Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) is fully funded by your generous gifts. An AED is a portable, electronic device designed to automatically analyze the heart rhythm and deliver an electric shock to victims of ventricular fibrillation (a dangerous type of arrhythmia, or irregular heartbeat) to restore the heart rhythm to normal.
This new Ultrasound System for Picc Lines was fully funded by donations to our Foundation in 2024. It allows our Team to insert PICC lines for Oncology Patients, using an ultrasound-guided technique. The Anaesthesia Team at Groves is committed to providing this service for our rural patients, to improve access to medically necessary treatment, close to home. Previously, patients had to travel to Guelph or Kitchener for this treatment, resulting in delays in receiving intravenous therapy and missed medication doses while awaiting transfer to a larger hospital. Your support has truly improved care for patients receiving cancer care at Groves. Thank you!
Through your support, up-to-date, vital medical tools remain available at Groves Hospital. Your support will allow our team of staff and physicians to continue to deliver outstanding health care to you and your family, in our community, for years to come.
